THE MEDITERRANEAN MEDICAL GENETICS MEETING 2009 28 Haziran-1 Temmuz 2009 - ANKARA / TÜRKİYE
THE MEDITERRANEAN MEDICAL GENETICS MEETING 2009
Davet / Açılış Konuşması / Önsöz
The Mediterranean Medical Genetics Meeting 2009, a collaborative effort intended to promote peace through international scientific cooperation, will begin on 28 June in Ankara, Turkey. This event has its roots in the meetings that took place in Limassol, Istanbul and Cairo in the 1990s, and aims to advance the life sciences through programmes reflecting the concepts and high-resolution approaches of modern genomics research.
Scientists and health care professionals will come together to discuss the new developments, and to forge new collaborations. We hope they will leave with new ideas that lead to significant discoveries.
The MediMedGen 2009 Meeting represents the very fabric of what medical genetics is about – working towards a brighter future by better understanding our genetic diversity and discovering the fundamentals of genome biology for the diagnosis, management and treatment of inherited disorders. Education is an integral part of Medical Genetics.
Therefore, the European Society of Human Genetics education course “Medical genetics and genomic analysis in isolated and consanguineous populations” is an integral part of our meeting. Recognizing and fostering talented scientists, empowering them to advance the life sciences to understand how life works and share knowledge to meet the challenges of a changing world are central to our meeting.
In this year’s scientific programme, there will be special lectures, platform presentations of young scientists, poster sessions, sponsored symposia and exhibits, prizes and award ceremonies. Our goal is to inform and inspire participants whatever the stage of their scientific careers.
Here are just a few of the highlights:
Leaders of our field will expand our horizons by sharing with us their perspectives in medical genetics and genomics research.
Latest developments in genome architecture and regulation, cancer genetics and neurogenetics will be presented by distinguished investigators working in these fields.
The architects and gate keepers of clinical genetics, dysmorphology and genomics will share with us their insights into human phenotypes, molecular pathways and genomics landscapes.
Education, collaboration and diagnostic services in medical genetics as well as ethics and genetic counseling will be discussed with a broad perspective on these subjects.
We invite you to join us in Ankara for The MediMedGen Meeting 2009.
